About us
Background
Matwabeng Community Development is the Non-Profit Organization. The organization started in 2022 to function but it was only registered formally in 2023. This initiative started at the backroom of Ms. Letseleha's residence then realized the number of children that needed aid and care were overwhelming. Ms. Dieketseng Eunice Letseleha is the founder of Matwabeng Community Development, later Mrs. Mamokheseng Bridget Bereng and Ms. Palesa Itumeleng Mkwani joined to assist then other members were earmarked to serve at the Centre because they started as volunteers and possessed all skills and/or experience required.
The first Program that was rolled out is a soup kitchen (Feeding Scheme). Later on, we saw the need to expand our programs, then the building was acquired by one of the members Ms. Eunice Letseleha (Director) with the vision and purpose to provide shelter for children from disadvantaged background. The Centre was acquired by Ms. Letseleha using her personal funds.
Currently the Centre needs funding, the process to request Government intervention is underway. The Centre is run from direct donations by Community and personal funds from members. It is our vision to sustain this great initiative for generations to come. We are engaging different stakeholders to partner with us to alleviate poverty and starvation in this community.
We have a team of dedicated volunteers. All our Volunteers are coming from Senekal. Our Volunteers are currently not getting compensation however we would like to provide them with stipends or honorariums to encourage them to continue serving at the Centre as we pave the future for homeless children.
It is our commitment to provide service in a dignified manner hence the faces of our children are protected to guard against shaming them also human traffic since they are vulnerable. Funders and donors are more than welcome to visits our Centre but appointment must be secured prior visiting. Our friendly staff and volunteers are happy to give anyone inspection in loco to see our place. Please check contacts to set up an appointment to visit.
Vision
To ensure every child in our community does not sleep on an empty stomach. All street kids or children without shelter are provided with a safe, clean and decent place to sleep. To promote literacy and education to orphans and homeless children. To promote and protect the interests, values, rights and dignity of the disadvantaged children.
To be the voice against child abuse, child labour, child trafficking and exploitation. To raise poor children to be independent, confident and self-sufficient so that they can start their life journey. Children learns by observing and imitating what adult does, so we need to instill humility, kindness and core values. We need to treat children with utmost care and sensitivity to mould them. Our organization shall provide support to victims of abuse. We believe the future of this country is in the hands of our children.
Mission
We can only achieve our vision if we serve our community with transparency, professionalism, diligence, compassion, sympathy and commitment. To build sustainable and continual service that will cater for generations for come. To drive awareness campaigns through seminars, social media platforms, door to door campaigns, public campaigns e.t.c.
Our organization needs to be a role player in addressing social-economic challenges such as hunger and starvation. Those socio-economic issues shall be curbed through programs such as feeding schemes, food parcels and skills development. One of the skills that are key in fighting hunger and starvation, it is teaching/training the community on agriculture specifically on agronomy. We are committed to upskill these children at a very young age. We need to acclimatize our programs with the 4th industrial revolution to ensure children coming out of the incubation programs are skilled, relevant and productive. We are going to partner with local businesses to ensure we sharpen the skills and knowledge of our beneficiaries to pave future for them.

Our team
Dieketseng Eunice Letseleha
Director
I have 35 years experience as an educator. Foundation Phase is close to my heart hence I spent most of my career working with children and learners with learning barriers. Currently I am more focused on projects that are helping vulnerable groups such as orphans, victims of domestic violence, people with disability et. al.
Our organization was established on these principles: Humility, Sympathy, Generosity and Love. We are passionate about serving.
We started this organization without funding. However limited resources cannot deter us from achieving our goals. We are driven by grace.
We are blessed to have a team that is dedicated to serve. Our volunteers are Disciplined, Dedicated, Determined and Diligent. Those Four Ds of success will elevate this organization to greater heights. We will continue to selflessly serve and build this community.
Morena boloka sechaba sa heso (God protect our people)

I have ten years experience in the Medical Fraternity. I am a Surgical Technologist by profession. To be part of the team that is dedicated to helping poor community is fulfilling. Charity is most conspicuous gift one can give to the vulnerable children. I believe children are the future hence I am part of this team.
Lets give a decent shelter to children who are homeless, abused and disadvantaged.
let us uplift the spirit of Ubuntu (Humility)

I have five years experience in Early Childhood Development. I have worked as a volunteer at various centres that cares for children. I am delighted to be part of the team. Educate the child to build a nation. Future belongs to children. we need to instill values, life skills and humility so that we can have great future leaders.
To work with children you need love, generosity, passion, empathy and humility. It is rewarding knowing that you are helping future leaders, presidents, engineers, scientists and doctors to begin their life journey.
with love
